The delegation inspects preparation at Yen Tu commune of Yen Mo district.

The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway's section running through Ninh Binh province has a total length of 25.3 kilometers. The project starts at an intersection with the North-South expressway in Mai Son commune of Yen Mo district and ends at the bridge crossing Day river in Khanh Cuong commune of Yen Khanh district.

The expressway is designed to have four lanes with a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The project comprises 12 bridges, three flyovers and three intersections.

The project plays an important role in connecting with Mai Son - National highway 45 and easing vehicle flows in Mai Son - Cao Bo section running through Ninh Binh city and Mai Son - Tam Toa brigde.

It also helps connect transport system in the eastern area of Ninh Binh with Nga Son district of neighbouring Thanh Hoa province, National highway 10, coastal road and East-West transport axis.

Ngoc and his delegation inspected affected areas  in Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts. They also checked the plan on arranging residential areas for affected households in Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts.

After the inspection, Ngoc spoke highly of the coordination among local departments, sectors, consulting units and localities in finalising a feasibility report for the project.

He underscored that the planning schemes must be suitable with reality, ensure long-term visions and development opportunities.

It is necessary to arrange new residential areas close to the previous ones and connect with transport systems, social infrastructure such as schools, medical facilities, cultural houses to create convenience for affected households, he said.

The official also asked the Department of Transport to work with provincial departments, sectors, consulting units and localities to collect feedback from the delegation to revise unsuitable contents and items and complete the feasibility report for submission to relevant agencies for appraisal so as to kick off the project right in 2024.
