The first Ninh Binh Tourism Week was held in 2018. It aimed to promote the outstanding natural landscape and cultural values of the Hoa Lu ancient capital. The event was expected to attract more tourists during the low season.
The annual tourism week offers visitors the opportunity to take part in activities, including walking street and culinary market, cultural exchange, art performance, Xam and Cheo singing and folk games. The week also includes exhibitions of local traditional handicraft products, OCOP products, and a photo tour and exhibition about "The Tam Coc - Trang An yellow season".
This year, the Ninh Binh Tourism Week was renewed, offering new experiences and tourism products, leaving good impressions on visitors.
The highlight of the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2024 was a vivid artwork depicting a young boy playing the flute on the back of buffalo (called "Muc dong thoi sao") on the nearly- 10,000-sq.m paddy field. The artwork was inspired by a famous Dong Ho folk painting of Vietnam, especially in the northern of Tonkin.
Notably, the special art programme at the opening ceremony on June 1 evening draw the participation of over 10,000 delegates, local people and visitors.
This is the first time the God of Agriculture worshipping ritual has been re-enacted with the participation of nearly 2,00, local people and 200 buffaloes. Up to 63 boats carried typical farm products of 63 provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide to offer to the God of Agriculture.
During the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023, the province attracted about 172,600 visitors, doubling the figure of the previous year's event.
With fresh and outstanding activities, the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2024, lasting from June 1-8, is expected to welcome 300,000 tourist arrivals, up 75% compared to the figure of 2023.
