Under the master plan on the tourism system for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2045, there are 61 locations distributed in six tourism regions, which will be developed into national tourism areas in the country.

National tourist areas are identified as important nuclei to attract investment in a concentrated and effective manner, thereby creating driving forces for tourism development for regions and localities and playing an important role in building tourism brands for the destinations.

The Trang An ecological tourism site and Kenh Ga - Van Trinh tourism site are among 11 tourism sites of the Red River Delta planned to become national tourism areas for the 2021-2030 period. 

The Trang An ecological tourism site boasts to breathtaking nature with the harmonic beauty of rivers, mountains, sub-merged caves with pristine fauna and floral ecosystems. With outstanding cultural and natural values, Trang An is deserved to become a national tourism area.

The Kenh Ga -Van Trinh tourism site has been endowed with a captivating landscape and a precious natural hot spring. The hot spring is good to health recovery and owns great potential for developing medical tourism.

These are two popular tourist destinations in the province and they have attracted a large number of visitors every year.

Being listed among the potential national tourism sites would help Ninh Binh's tourism sector to develop itself into a spearhead economic sector and turn it into a tourism hub of the whole country and of the Red River Delta.

It is seen as a chance to attract more investment into the province, thus gradually changing the facelift, and building Ninh Binh into a safe, friendly and hospitable destination.
