Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh on September 15 visited and presented gifts to people affected by floods in the districts of Nho Quan and Gia Vien in Ninh Binh province.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented gifts to local disadvantaged households in Duc Long commune (Nho Quan district).
Thanh met with and presented gifts to a number of local disadvantaged households, who had been affected by floods in Duc Long commune of Nho Quan district and Gia Thinh commune of Gia Vien district.
She expressed her sympathy with these families and hoped that they will soon overcome difficulties to stabilise their lives.
Thanh also acknowledged and praised the efforts of the authorities of Ninh Binh for their active deployment of plans to respond to heavy rains and floods after the typhoon.
In particularly, the local party committees and local administrations have provided enough food, water and medicines for local residents who have been isolated by floods, thus ensuring the lives for local people and minimising the damage caused by floods.
While granting 100 million VND to Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts each to support affected households, the Vice Chairwoman asked local party committees and administrations to promptly support local residents to resume production and business, ensure environmental hygiene and prevent and control diseases in the flooded areas, and continue to implement policies for disadvantages people.
