Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Mai Van Tuat; Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong, Chairman of AVSE Global, co-chaired the working session.
Speaking at the session, Huan underscored that Ninh Binh has a different development strategy as compared to those of other cities and provinces nationwide as it owns the UNESCO-recognized world cultural and natural heritage of Trang An.
In the past few years, the province has paid due attention to developing the economy in a green, sustainable and harmonic direction; shifting its production method from 'brown' to 'green', and developing high-tech, modern and friendly-environmental industries.
It is high time for the province to shift from exploiting cultural and natural resources to a science and technology- based economy in line with creative arts and culture and to intensive international integration.
Under the provincial master planning scheme plan for the period of 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, the cultural industry and tourism sector will become spearhead economic sectors. Ninh Binh will become a centrally-run city by 2035 with characteristics of a millennium heritage and creative city. Therefore, Ninh Binh hopes to receive support, suggestions and consultancy from experts and scientists to realizing its development targets and viewpoints, the official said.
Khuong said Ninh Binh's development orientation of becoming a centrally-run with characteristics of a heritage and creative city is a model of sustainable and responsible growth. However, it needs great efforts to realize the target.
He suggested some issues related to shifting the production method from brown to green, digital transformation, social model transition and population model transformation.
At the working session, experts and scientists also shared some orientations, development trends of other cities in the world that Ninh Binh could apply such as zoning off green space, developing circular economy, ways to mobilise local people during the growth process and application of information technology and AI.
They also clarified the position of Ninh Binh in the region as well as some international experiences in building a heritage city.
Ninh Binh needs to build a high-quality internet network covering the whole city; build an online administrative system; upgrade the electronic portal and mobile application, they said.
It also needs to develop smart tourism, step up the application of virtual technology, apply blockchain in origin traceability for agricultural products, build a startup and innovation ecosystem, and combined biodiversity with heritage conservation and development.
Experts suggested Ninh Binh develop tourism on three main pillars, economy-culture, society, environment; green and high-end tourism in combination with clean technology and creative cultural industry.
In his conclusion, Huan spoke highly of opinions and suggestions of experts, scientists and artists and hoped to receive more ideas from AVSE Global.
He also expressed his wish to receive more support from AVSE Global, particularly in the fields of digital transformation and building a creative city, thereby helping Ninh Binh to shape its development strategy based on the province's potential an advantages.
