Ninh Binh's leaders offer incense to mark 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, on May 6, a delegation of Ninh Binh's Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, departments, and organizations held an incense offering ceremony at the province's martyr Memorial site and province's martyr monument.

Member of party central committee, Secretary of Ninh Binh provincial party committee Doan Minh Huan, Chairman of provincial people's council Mai Van Tuat and Standing Vice Chairman of provincial people's committee Tong Quang Thin along with representatives of local departments and agencies attended the event.

In a sacred atmosphere, the participants observed a minute's silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation's re-unification, national construction and protection as well as the people's happiness.

As many as 235,000 Ninh Binh soldiers, young volunteers participated in the two resistances wars against French colonialism and America invaders. 16,000 of them lost their lives.

During the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, there were 61 Ninh Binh soldiers, young volunteers, frontline workers laid down, contributing to the victory of Dien Bien Phu that "resounded across the five continents and shook the globe".

In front of the hallowed memorial to the heroic martyrs, the leaders vowed to unite, overcome difficulties and determine to develop Ninh Binh strongly and sustainably.
